As I know I’ve mentioned like 6 billion times, I quit smoking a few months back – and there are tons of positive aspects of doing so: health benefits, saving money, smelling nicer, etc. However, there are also the downsides to quitting (yes, they exist), such as: losing a vice/outlet for stress and the worst – gaining weight!
Quitting smoking mixed with the stress of graduating caused a lot of junk food binges and just unhealthy eating to the point that in 5 months I gained a lot of weight, (this is sort of expected when you stop satisfying your oral fixation, you replace it with food). If that wasn’t bad enough, I am in a wedding in 2 months and therefore have a bridesmaid dress to fit into! (Yikes!) So, my goal is to lose 20 pounds before the wedding,by eating healthy and through exercise ! *fingers crossed*
Oh, the stress!!
In honor of my new healthy life style, I’ve decided to share my top 5 favorite songs to work out to, as well as the 5 runner ups… So really it’s my top 10… But, yeah. Counting down from 5:
5. Totally Fucked – This is a song from the musical Spring Awakening which is an amazing show! The song has a great beat to work out to! Check it out:
4. Georgia by Alex Day – I tend to write about this youtuber a lot because I think he’s absolutely brilliant. Here’s one of the songs off his latest albums:
3. I’m on a Boat by The Lonely Island – Another song with a great beat, and so funny too! This is a must-see video, so check it out if you haven’t already:
2. Another One Bites the Dust by Queen/Jonathan Groff – This song always gets me up and moving! I love it! Though, I have to admit, I tend to listen to the Glee version by Jonathan Groff more than the original… I’m a total Gleek!
1. And the number one work out song is: For You Entertainment by Adam Lambert – I have this on my playlist 4 times – it’s that good! Such a good beat, and a great voice… What’s not to love?

I have been there plenty of times. I just like good food too much. The best and easiest way I have found to loose weight is to find a sport I like and focus on that. I am not a big gym person. I find it to be boring. Also congratulation on quiting smoking.
Me too! I’m a total foodie! And it’s funny, because I hate sports, but I like the gym. I like being able to just throw my head phones on and take my frustration out on the bike.
Thank you! I quit a while ago and I feel like I talk about it too much! >.<
FYI — additional GREAT workout songs
“Bleed it Out” – Linkin Park (great beat – if you run to the beat it keeps a nearly PERFECT tempo for 8:30/mile)
“I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)” – Pitbull (Another roughly 7:30 – 8:30/mile pace if you keep it well)
“You Fight Me” – Breaking Benjamin/Sebastian Bach (Good motivation song)
“Becoming The Bull” – Atreyu… Caution: if you are listenin to this song and you are:
1) running — you may get the urge to divert your course and enter a marathon (NOT recommended)
2) lifting weights, you may attempt to challenge men who are twice your size to athletic competitions (ALSO not recommended
… I’m just sayin’
